I have a co-worker who is always asking me for help, and it's starting to interfere with my work. I don't mind helping out every now and then, but this is getting out of hand. How do I politely tell them to back off without coming across as a swine?

Set some limits with a coworker who is continuously begging for assistance. Explain to them that you're happy to help out every now and then, but you need to focus on your own work as well. If they continue to bother you, then you can be more direct and tell them that you don't have the time or energy to help them out. Politely but firmly putting your foot down should get the message across.
