HomeFriends Relationship QuestionsWhat makes a strong friendship?

A friend of mine always says that the key to a strong friendship is being there for one another through thick and thin. They say that you have to be willing to put in the effort to compromise and understand each other, even when things get tough. That’s definitely been the case for me and my best friend. We’ve been close since we were kids, and we’ve always been there for each other. We’ve helped each other through hard times and celebrated our successes together. We know each other inside and out, and we can always rely on each other for support. However, things take a turn when he left for college. We didn’t keep in touch as often and our friendship slowly started to fade away. I am trying to make an effort but it seems as though nothing is working.

The key to a strong friendship is being able to weather the storms together. If you can stick by each other through the tough times, then you know you’ve got a true friend for life. It sounds like you and your best friend have been through a lot together, and you’ve always been there for each other. But it’s normal for friendships to change when one person leaves for college. It takes effort to stay in touch, but it can be done. If you both make the effort, then your friendship will be stronger than ever.
