I was talking to my friend the other day and she was telling me about how her best friend had betrayed her. She told me that she had confided in her best friend about something personal and sensitive, and then the next day she heard her best friend gossiping about it with someone else. She was so hurt and betrayed. I can't imagine how she must have felt.
The worst thing you can do to a friend betrays their trust. When you confide in someone, you are trusting them to keep your secrets safe. If they break that trust, it can be very difficult to repair the damage. It's important to be careful about who you confide in and to make sure that they are worthy of your trust. Once that trust is broken, it's hard to get it back.
