HomeLong Distance Relationship QuestionsShould I be friends with someone long-distance?
Rila Thomas Staff asked 2 months ago

Grey and I have been best friends for about two years now, ever since we met in our French class. We live in the same town and go to the same school but this summer, she's moving away to New York with her family. I'm really going to miss her but we've decided to stay friends and try to do a long-distance friendship. I'm just not sure if it's worth it though.

It can be really tough to stay friends with someone who lives far away but it is definitely possible. You'll just have to put in a little more effort to keep in touch. Make sure to schedule regular video chats or phone calls and try to visit each other when you can. You can also send each other little gifts or care packages to remind each other that you're thinking of each other. Lastly, try to stay positive and understand that there will be times when you won't be able to talk as much. If you can do all these things, then I'm sure you'll be able to maintain your friendship despite the distance.
