I am quite overwhelmed with work and my mental health is deteriorating because of it. I am thinking about asking my boss for a mental health break, but I am worried that it will make me look weak or unprofessional.
Mental health is just as important as physical health, so there is no shame in taking a break to focus on your well-being. In fact, it may even make you more productive in the long run. Talk to your boss about your concerns and explain that you would like to take a mental health day or two. They should be understanding and accommodating, but if they're not, you can always talk to HR. The most important thing is that you take care of yourself, so don't be afraid to ask for what you need.
