It has always been a struggle for me to stick to a workout routine. I start out strong, but then I get busy or lazy and I stop going. This has been a cycle for me ever since I can remember. I really want to get in shape and be healthy, but I don't know how to make myself actually do it.
Working out is actually dreadful if you are not in the habit of it. It is difficult to make yourself do it when you are not seeing results immediately. However, there are a couple of things you can do to ease into it. First, start small. Don't try to go from zero to five days a week at the gym. Start with two or three days a week and gradually increase from there. Second, find an activity that you actually enjoy doing. If you hate running, don't make yourself do it just because you think you should. There are tons of different workout options out there, so find one that you can look forward to doing. Finally, enlist the help of a friend or family member. Having someone to hold you accountable will help you stay on track.
