I am getting ready to start a 5-year long-distance relationship. We will be living in different countries and will only be able to see each other once or twice a year. I want to make sure I am mentally and emotionally prepared for this before we start.
There are a few things you can do to prepare yourself for a long-distance relationship. First, it's important to be honest with yourself about why you're entering into a long-distance relationship and what your expectations are. This will help you set realistic goals for the relationship. Next, you need to make sure you have a strong support system in place (friends, family, etc) to help you when you're feeling homesick or lonely. Finally, be sure to stay organized and communicate regularly with your partner to keep the relationship strong.
