HomeFriends Relationship QuestionsHow to be comfortable and open with your friends?
Rila Thomas Staff asked 5 months ago

I am a naturally shy person and I tend to be reserved and closed off around new people. Over the years, I have worked hard to become more confident and comfortable when socializing with others, especially my friends. However, there are days when I can't help but feel a little anxious and uncomfortable around them.

Can you help me warm around to my friends and be more open?

It's natural to want to be comfortable and open with your friends. After all, they're the people you've chosen to spend time with, and you should feel safe and relaxed around them. However, sometimes it can be difficult to let your guard down, especially if you're naturally shy or reserved. Let's start by talking about things that interest you. When you're talking about something that you're passionate about, it's easier to be yourself and feel comfortable. Find common ground with your friends by talking about the things you love. You can also try sharing something personal with them. Don't be afraid to open up and trust your friends – they're more likely to be understanding and supportive than you think. If you're still feeling anxious, there's no shame in admitting it. Talk to your friends about how you're feeling and let them know that you're trying to work on it. They might be able to give you some helpful advice or support. Remember, your friends want you to be happy and comfortable, so don't hesitate to reach out to them. With a little effort, you can learn to be comfortable and open with your friends.
