Because of the pandemic, our company is forced to have all meetings virtually. This means that I have to see my colleagues on Zoom every day and it's really awkward. I'm not sure how to act or what to say. How can I make these meetings less awkward?
There are a few things you can do to make virtual meetings less awkward. First, try to relax and remember that everyone is in the same boat as you. We're all trying to figure out this new way of working and we're all bound to make a few mistakes. Second, be patient with people. Technical issues are common and people might have trouble hearing or understanding each other. Finally, try to be friendly and engaging. Ask questions, participate in the discussion, and make an effort to get to know your colleagues. With time, you'll all become more comfortable with each other and these meetings will start to feel more normal.
