I've always been a people pleaser and I tend to put others before myself. This has led to me feeling really exhausted and resentful. I know I need to start putting myself first, but I don't know how.
If you're used to putting others before yourself, it can be tough to know how to start putting yourself first. A good way to start is by setting some boundaries. Decide what you're willing and not willing to do for others, and stick to it. You might also try scheduling in some "me time" every week, even if it's just an hour or two. This can be time spent doing something you enjoy, or simply time spent relaxing. Remember that it's okay to put yourself first and that doing so can actually make you a better friend or family member in the long run.
