HomeLong Distance Relationship QuestionsHow do I make my family understand that I need to work far away?
Roy Murray asked 1 month ago

I have always lived with my family but now that I am an adult, I want to move away for work. However, my family is very against the idea and doesn't understand why I would want to leave. How can I make them see that this is something I need to do?

The best way to make your family understand your decision to move away for work is to explain your reasoning to them. Sit down with them and tell them about your plans and why you think this is the best choice for you. Additionally, try and assure them that even though you will be living far away, you will still stay in touch and be a part of their lives. Finally, try to compromise with them by suggesting ways to stay connected, like video calls or visiting when you can.
