HomeProfessional Relationship QuestionsHow do I deal with an arrogant and overbearing colleague?
Roy Murray asked 2 months ago

I am an assistant to my boss and this employee named Vina has been assigned to a task to help me sort and screen employees. She's so boastful and always puts herself on top of others. She would talk to me in an arrogant and overbearing way as if she knows everything and I know nothing. This really gets on my nerves but I don't want to say anything because I don't want to create any conflict. How can I deal with this situation?

Oh no, it must be nerve-racking to have to deal with an arrogant and overbearing colleague on a daily basis. I think it's important to stay professional and not let her get to you. Maybe you can try talking to her calmly and respectfully about how her attitude is affecting you. If that doesn't work, you can always talk to your boss about the situation and see if they can mediate. I hope this situation gets resolved soon.
