HomeSelf Relationship QuestionsDo I have to be in a relationship in order to be happy?
Rila Thomas Staff asked 2 months ago

For most of my life, I thought that being in a relationship was the key to happiness. I would see my friends who were single and think that they must be miserable, or at least not as content as I was in my relationships. Now I am in my 30s and I am not sure whether I need to focus on myself or if I should be looking for someone to share my life with.

It is a common misconception that we need to be in a relationship in order to be happy. This could not be further from the truth! There are plenty of people who are perfectly content without being in a relationship. In fact, some people even find that being in a relationship can be a source of stress and anxiety.

So, if you're wondering whether you need to be in a relationship in order to be happy, the answer is no. You can be happy without being in a relationship. However, that doesn't mean that being in a relationship is wrong or bad. If you're happy in a relationship, then there's nothing wrong with that. Everyone is different and what makes one person happy might not make another person happy.
