Layla is the "IT girl" of the school and I have been friends with her since kindergarten. But as of late, she's been really mean to me and I don't know why. She would exclude me from things and when we were hanging out she would make snarky comments. I am really considering ending the friendship, but I don't know if that's the right decision.
It's possible for friends to be enemies, especially if they're in competition with each other. If Layla is being mean to you, it's probably best to end the friendship. Being around someone who makes you feel bad is not worth it, so it's better to distance yourself from her. But before you make any decisions, you could try talking to her about the situation and see if she's willing to change. If she's not, then it's probably best to let her go.
